Ep 92 - Elon's Double Double

CHALLENGING THE IDEA THAT ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE FOR THE RICH

Poor people spend more of their income on gas and transportation and their neighborhoods often are more exposed to air pollution. At the EV Roadmap Conference in Portland Tuesday, experts discussed how electric cars could help on both fronts.

AUTOMATED AND ELECTRIC VEHICLES BILL - FROM THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND  THE QUEEN IS GREEN

allows the government to require the installation of charge points for electric vehicles at motorway service areas and large fuel retailers, and to require a set of common technical and operational standards. This will ensure charge points are convenient to access and work seamlessly right across the UK

Space X can launch Satellites cheaper than any other & they announced so last month:

SpaceX formally announced its intent to deploy a global network of 4,425 satellites operating in low-earth orbit for worldwide low latency broadband internet services http://www.teslarati.com/spacex-high-speed-internet-satellites-2019-launch/

The aero wheels look much better than the version they sold on the MS (8/2013), I wonder how much more range they net you? The old wheels cost $2500 and provided a 3% boost (https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/are-aero-wheels-range-improvements-writing )

Tesla is ‘actively talking to other automakers’ about opening up its Supercharger network, says CTO JB Straubel

last time that the possibility of Tesla sharing the network was brought up was back in September 2015 - in Germany, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla is in talks with “some [auto] manufacturers” about sharing the network.

Tesla has also joined the CCS charging standard association, which means that they plan to take steps to promote the system, which could, in turn, mean broader compatibility at their Superchargers than their current proprietary connector.

SPACEX & AEROSPACE

Watch a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch 10 satellites into orbit (part deux)

SUNDAY the second of two launches are part of Iridium’s plan to create a large constellation of 66 telecommunications satellites in lower-Earth orbit called Iridium NEXT. It will deliver mobile voice and data coverage all over the planet, including over the ocean and at the poles. The first 10 satellites were launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket in January; today’s launch will bring the number of satellites in space to 20. When fully completed, the constellation will also be used to provide a minute-by-minute tracking system for airplanes

This particular rocket previously flew in January, when it was used to put 10 satellites into orbit for communications company Iridium.

NEXT SPACEX LAUNCH IS 7/4/2017 4:35PM
